Design Assistant

ABOUT THE ROLE
The role of Design Assistant will be to support the day to day running of the design team and department. This role has a blend of creative and admin work and will require someone who is organised as you will be working closely with our in-house design team. You must be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the brand/customer profile with a strong commercial eye. The ideal Design Assistant must be motivated to work across numerous projects to support the design functions on a daily basis with a positive attitude and hunger to learn.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Collating research, inspiration boards and design packs for projects, meetings or business analytics.
- Assist Design team in technical illustrations, tech packs and creating fabric presentation boards for range sign offs.
- Recolouring CADs and updating rolling design CAD slides.
- Assisting in overview deck to hand over to marketing pre range launch.
- Reviewing new arrivals and ensuring that product descriptions and imagery is correct as per the overview deck.
- Style Arcade/PLM management and data entry for Design team.
- Sample room management alongside the BAA, ensuring samples are hung and organised accordingly before and after fit sessions.
- Sample sale and back to stock management.
- Fabric filing and fabric Library organisation.
- Prepare and convey fabric and trim sourcing decks to distribute to suppliers.
- Assist wider team including Design, Garment Technician, Production Coordinator and Sustainability & CSR Specialist with daily tasks.
- Assist Design team with sample chasing in order to align with critical path deadlines.
- Review trade to assess best and worst sellers weekly.
- Attend assigned range meeting and keep accurate notes to recap the team and assist in follow through of any design changes.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Relevant degree or equivalent in Fashion Design.
- At least 1 year of design assistant experience.
- Knowledge of CAD systems, with particular reference to Photoshop & Illustrator.
- Strong understanding of the MESHKI Customer/Profile.
- Good knowledge of trends within Fashion.
- Fast thinking & adaptable.
- Excellent organisational & time management skills.
- Comfortable presenting back to line management.
- Ability to work to deadlines is essential.
- Must have the ability to work multi product areas & be open to daily changes.
