Quality Assurance Officer

ABOUT THE ROLE
Meshki is seeking a highly detail-oriented Quality Assurance Officer to join our team, specialising in quality product manufacturing and compliance. Reporting to the Returns and Quality Assurance Manager and working closely with the garment tech team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, market-leading products that meet both design and performance standards while ensuring strict adherence to international regulations.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Collaborate with the garment tech team from the initial tech pack and briefing stages to identify areas for quality improvement.
- Assist in managing pre-shipment reports and third-party inspections, ensuring any quality issues are flagged and resolved before shipment.
- Oversee fabric and trims sourcing, ensuring only high-quality materials are used in Meshki products.
- Support product traceability and compliance with international regulations (US, UK, Australia) and communicate this across the team.
- Ensure trims and fabrics undergo the appropriate testing, and maintain accurate product logs.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with market-specific regulations, including Prop 65 and REACH.
- Maintain and update the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system (WFX), ensuring fabrications, trims, and testing records are accurate.
- Participate in fit sessions and provide pre-fit feedback on garment quality.
- Contribute to team training to elevate overall product quality.
- Ensure Bills of Materials (BOM) are up to date for accurate costings and testing across styles.
- Consolidate product reviews and feedback for more informed product development.
- Maintain and update quality manuals for suppliers to consistently meet Meshki standards.
- Investigate customer feedback and provide insights to improve future product developments.
- Assist with tech pack development and fittings during peak periods to help meet critical deadlines.
- Support warehouse inspections for onshore products.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- 6+ years of experience in the garment manufacturing industry, ideally in a garment technician, fabric technician, or product developer role.
- Experience working with high-end brands is a plus but not essential.
- Familiarity with product regulations across Australia, the US, and the UK is required.
- Strong knowledge of quality garment construction techniques and the ability to communicate them effectively.
- Experience with Prop 65 compliance and knowledge of REACH regulations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for quality and precision.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with confidence in addressing and resolving issues.
- Experience with pre-shipment and testing reports
- Mandarin language skills are advantageous but not essential.
- Experience working with suppliers in China is essential; experience with India and direct work with mills is a bonus.
- A proactive approach to guiding and mentoring junior team members.
